Uses of Stevia Plants


Stevia plants are mainly grown in South America. It is a major part of their cultivation. Stevia plants grow from seeds. They require to grown on moist slow that has regular supply of water. It was initially famous in South America and Japan. Now to due to its wide use as a sugar replacement it is gaining popularity in United States and Canada too. Stevia plants can be harvested five to six times every year. During harvest time, it is made sure that the plant is cut a little above the ground, meaning the root should not be cut or harmed. This way if the root remains inside the earth, you do not have to plant seeds again. The Stevia plants for the next harvest season will grow from these very roots.
A Stevia plant is available in many forms in the market. The first form of a Stevia plant is dried leaf Stevia plant. It is the least sweet of all the other forms of Stevia plants, but still it is much sweeter than normal table sugar. It maintains all the health profits of Stevia plants. This form of Stevia plant is not soluble in nature. The next form is the tablet form of Stevia plant. The tablet form is mainly used as a sweetener whose main job is to enhance flavor. Refined Stevia plant is another major form of Stevia plant. The last form of Stevia plant is liquid form. This liquid form of Stevia plant is quite dark in color and used in its purest forms.
